By joining A Work of Art you are agreeing to follow all of these rules.
Each person is allowed 4 characters on this site. If you would like more, permission from an administrator must be given. Also, one of those characters must be a boy and they must all be active.
We will have an activity check every so often to make sure that your character is active. If you miss the period to check in, your character will be deleted.
Each person is only allowed two canon characters. They may not be related.
Be original – no celebrity names (yes, that does include character names from television shows).
By the way, we keep it rollin' plotless around this place. That way the members have a say in what's going on, and because it lets surprises actually be surprising, instead of knowing what's going to happen. If you have any elaborate ideas that can effect the scheme of things, keep it on the hush hush and let me know.
, the registration
No, you may not use names like devil666 or jess_williams. You must register with a first, middle, and last name, all in uppercase letters.
When creating a username, if you do not create a character within 5 days you're username will be deleted. It makes the site look more inactive, when it's not at all.
No overly large signatures. If you're using a graphic it can be no larger than 200x500 or if your using icons it should be no more than two rows of icons.
This board is rated Mature, which means if you can't deal with sex, drugs, violence, or whatever else will be posted up here, I recommend you find another site. You have been warned.
OOC fighting will not be tolerated. You do it, and we have the rights to ban you from this site. You may, of course, fight In Character while posting, but fighting with a character's handler will cause trouble and there will be consequences.

No Gary-Stu’s. As this is an advanced board, we expect the characters to be well developed. This means there have to be flaws and points of weakness. Things they’re good at it, things they detest. Nobody’s perfect, not even me which – I know – is hard to believe.
Before your interview is accepted do not post anywhere else.
Yes, there is obviously a password to get into the character creation thread. And here it is, FNGNCLW.
Do not use any other template for creating a character than the templates given, if you want to use another one ask.
Your character must be represented by a person. Not a drawing, but an actual person. It can be an unknown model or a celebrity face. After you have chosen one remember to claim it in the Face Claim. No Anime, unless it's moderately real looking.
Whether you get accepted or not depends wholly on your application. Don't just rush through it – actually work on it because it can help you feel out who your character is.
Though we all know it's inevitable, try not to duplicate powers that are more uncommon among characters. Sure speediness and strength in three characters on the site is fine, but try to avoid going to someone else's profile and go "ooh, I like the idea of being about to duplicate!". Be original, please!

As stated before this is a Mature site. However, to be courteous to those who want to join the site but avoid it's mature contents, remember to mark the thread with a warning. Just a simple "Mature Content" or "R" will do.
Sex // Pregnancy – as mentioned above if there is sex involved in the thread, make sure to write "Mature Content" or simply "R" in the title. Or even in the first post. Pregnancy is allowed on this site, and male pregnancy is not allowed. Just let an admin know and I'll give you the DOB of the little booger.

God-modding is a definite no. If you don't know what that means, look it up. Though I have to wonder how long you've been role-playing.
This is an Advanced role-play site, which means that the posts must be lengthy and well written. A minimum of two (5-9 sentences) paragraphs per post. As for grammar, try and keep it at a fairly high level. We understand that people make typos but a post riddled with errors is not what we're looking for.
You may have your character in more than one place at one time. You just have to plan it out on how it all falls together.
You must post in BOTH the Character Index and the Face Claim.
Currently the types of species allowed are vampires, vampyres, shapeshifters (of the many types), and witches/wizards. If you would like another species to be allowed, just ask and I will tell you my opinion and I might accept it.
Admin have the final say. No matter what.
You may advertise for other sites, but only in the advertisement board, not on your signature or in any of your posts.
